Recent Question:
I am at a point in my business where I need to decide if I am going to continue or not. I say this because the economy is making me very hesitant in investing more into my business if there will be no one to buy my services. Although if I close my business I will have to layoff people and I will have to find a job myself what should I do to make the best decision.
Answer:
I completely understand, I hope you know you are not alone in this decision. I suggest taking a fresh approach to your business and sitting down with your staff to discuss areas in which they think you can cut cots. Then I would ask them to share any ideas they have that you could implement to grow the business. Now, make sure you run this as a leader and control this meeting as not to let your staff loose faith in your leadership. The best way to do this is tell them you plan to take their ideas in to consideration with your own and you will get back to them with some final ideas to discuss and get their thoughts. The biggest thing here is make them feel involved in the solution. I also HIGHLY suggest hiring someone to help you get an action plan together that you can use as your guide. Remember most business owners stop investing in themselves first and that is a HUGE mistake. It is times like these you should invest in yourself. Trust me it is worth having an outside mind to help you see through all the muck around you. You should also be working with your Mastermind group to give you some support and perspective on decision. Taking time, getting help and having strong support will take you back to the path of success!
